Hi Cameron, I've been watching a series on BBC tv called Tropic of Cancer. Simon Reeve travels round the world on or near the T. of Cancer, visiting places and meeting people. In one programme he crosses Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Oman. He met Bedouin camel herders who now live in camps by the Red Sea on the edge of the desert. They are very poor and can no longer live their traditional nomadic way of life because rainfall has dereased so much that there's not enough subsistence scrub for the camels to graze on. It made me wonder if the same problem exists in your area. Hungry animals will try to eat anything. Of course, the litter shouldn't be there in the first place but it could mean that there's not enough grazing for them. What do you think? Please let me have more info.
By the way, I've passed your details on to George Monck of cleanupuk.org, one of several anti-litter groups in the UK. Al the best Tom |
